Tourists can taste the fresh and sweet cherries in Zhenning county, Guizhou province from April 20 to May 10, as a fruit picking festival is being held there.
Pan Dengling, the top official in Zhenning county, revealed that there were 27 picking sites available for tourists around the county.Tourists can get to the sites by public transportation or by using their own vehicles.
Zhenning has a long history of growing fruit thanks to its good weather conditions. In addition to cherries, pitayas and plums are also planted there.
By the end of 2016, Zhenning has planted cherry trees on some 52,000 mu (3,467 hectares) of land, generating turnover of 280 million yuan ($410,000).
