Peach trees in a 10-kilometer-long valley recently began to bloom, attracting tourists to Lvhua village in Yilong district, Guizhou province.

Yilong district is a pilot zone for urban and rural harmonious development in Guizhou province, which has been earmarked for infrastructure construction and poverty alleviation.

The village used to be known as a mountainous area, sandwiched between two mountains with karst landscapes. Supported by the government of Yilong district, eight agricultural species have since been introduced to Lvhua, including peaches, lemons and loquats.

The introduced species have been planted on a total of 11.3 square kilometers of farmland, with peaches covering 8 square kilometers. More than 10 million yuan ($1.5 million) was made by simply selling peaches in 2016, benefiting 520 rural households.
