Intangible cultural heritages are seeing a renaissance in Danyang county, Guizhou province as the local authorities have exerted efforts to promote them among students in recent years.
Located in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, Danyang is home to 21 ethnic groups. Thanks to the various cultural styles, Danyang has had seven items enlisted as national intangible cultural heritages, including batik—a pattern printing skill using wax and blue dye—and ancient papermaking methods.
