Skiing is generally regarded as a privilege for residents of North China, however, Liupanshui of southwest China invited people to enjoy the snow for a skiing activity launched on Jan 15.
Enjoying the mild winters of Guizhou province, Liupanshui has held the event to enrich local tourism and encourage citizens to take more exercise.
On opening day, more than 100,000 visitors visited the city’s three major ski resorts – Yushe Snow Mountain, Wumeng and Miehua Mountain to immerse themselves in the winter atmosphere.
The event will continue to Jan 19 during which activities, including a youth skiing competition and an international ice-snow sports industry forum, will be hosted.
