Students in Anlong county’s Qiaoling Primary School received New Year’s holiday gifts from the local authority on Jan 5.
The school, located among the mountains, has about 400 students and half of them are left-behind students whose parents work in other cities to make a living.
Due to interfile soil and poor transportation, life in the town is difficult and young people often leave to make money in other cities. Children, the elderly and some women are those usually “left-behind” to live in the town. To help these people enjoy a more comfortable New Year, the local authority has raised money to help support them.
