Guizhou province and Huawei held a meeting on Dec 22 to look for further cooperation opportunities in terms of software development, cloud computing, and big data.
Huawei, a leading global information and communication technology provider, boasts advanced technologies in cloud computer and big data.
The two sides signed a cooperation agreement in Nov and have conducted cooperation programs in regards to the application of cloud computing and big data, and the construction of Internet of Things and smart city.
By Nov 30, the province’s Department of Public Security launched more than 160 online systems which have collected 16 billion pieces of data, facilitating the government’s social management.
Huawei will initiate the plan to set up a data center on an area of 1,048 mu (698,667 square meters) next year. The company also reached agreements with Guizhou Minzu University and Vocational and Technical College of Anshun to train more professional individuals in big data.
