Zhenwu Mountain rises above Xingren county, Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture. Its Daoist architecture sweeps the mountain back in time to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
During the Qing dynasty (1644-1911), buildings including temples, booths and villas were added to the original architecture. Sadly, much of this was lost during the “cultural revolution” (1966-76).
To recover the historic site, the Xingren government invested a huge sum to build Zhenwu Mount Park. Construction started in 1997 and when completed two years later, there stood a magnificent Zhenwu Building on the mountain top, connected to a row of white stairs stretching to the foot of the mountain below.
Today, scattered across the mountain, temples, parks, ornamental gardens, fountains and other landmarks can be found, allowing visitors to step back in time and enjoy the beauty of nature and history.
