Guizhou hopes to become more attractive to visitors by developing forest eco-tourism.
The Forest Department of Guizhou province recently released a development goal of 100 sites for forest eco-tourism to be built over the next four years with the expectation of receiving 50 million visitors annually.
Vice Head of the Forest Department Shen Xiaochun, said that the province has laid foundations for forest eco-tourism by attracting investments and improving the infrastructure and services over the last few years.
Statistics from the department show that the province currently has 78 forest parks, 26 wetland parks, rich forest landscape resources and wildlife protection areas. By the end of 2015, the forest parks had received 33 million visitors, gaining an income of 4.4 billion yuan ($642 million).
