Guizhou province has got a big partner in developing big data, as it has signed a cooperation agreement with Huawei on Nov 12.
Huawei, a leading global information and communication technology provider, boasts advanced technologies in cloud computer and big data.
Based on the province’s development plan for big data, the two sides will cooperate on Internet of Things technology, the construction of a smart city, intelligent manufacturing and the application of big data and cloud computing.
Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of Huawei, explained that the province’s preferential policies in energy consumption were one of the reasons that they decided to develop big data in Guizhou. The cooperation may save Huawei as much as 100 million dollars annually in electricity charges.
