Guizhou province held an opening ceremony for its Second International Stone Exposition in Anshun city on Aug 26.
More than 80 businesses engaged in stone production from Guizhou were expected at the expo. Approximately 300 other businesses from both home and abroad, including the United States, France, and Italy, were also due to display their products.
The expo has a ground space of some 60,000 square meters, with stones, rough stone blocks and stone processing machines being exhibited.
During the exposition, events such as the Second National Stone Carving and Design Competition, the 2016 National Stone Mining Conference, the Guizhou Stone Industry Forum and a series of investment opportunity events were due to take place.
Located in Southwest China, Guizhou is a mountainous area with considerable stone deposits. The stone deposits cover a wide variety of different types, such as marble, granite, and basalt.
