Big data evangelist Viktor Mayer-Schonberger was on hand to analyze development trends at the Big Data Expo yesterday in Guiyang.
Mayer-Schonberger spoke during the "Discourse of the Big Data Era – from Theory to Practice" forum and was joined by vice-president of Alibaba, Tu Zipei; Xiaoi Robot founder, Yuan Hui; and other guests. The delegates also discussed security and policies relating to the big data industry and new challenges and opportunities.
"In the big data era, trust is the key element to maintain data security," said Mayer-Schonberger. He also outlines what he considered to be the essential role of developed laws and regulations in pushing social development with big data.
The five-day expo will exhibit the world's latest developments of cutting-edge big data-based technologies, products and solutions. The annual event attracts more than 2,000 experts and 50,000 participants.
