Ye Tao explains that it was the achievements of big data that caught his eyes and notes, "Geographic mapping technology gives a visual, accurate description of poverty and can help in fighting poverty" during a visit to the Guizhou Big Data Exhibition held in Beijing on March 3.
The technology can be used to single out impoverished areas and the cause of the poverty, and track the results of poverty relief and specific policies, he continued, and said he has confidence in the technology and that the province will take full advantage of big data in its future work.
