A refined tea factory, in the city of Guiyang, Guizhou province, the first of its kind in the city, has already proven to be a hit after a trial run, with its annual tea production capacity estimated at 5,000 tons.
This refined tea factory was set up in 2014, with an investment of 20-million yuan ($3.12 million) to serve tea plantations covering as many as 2,000 hecteres for their summer and autumn output.
In the past, Guiyang tea producers focused more on spring tea leaves than autumn and summer output, and simply left many tea leaves to wither on the plant without being picked, so the idea of the new factory is to increase per-hectare revenues to 22,500 - 30,000-yuan.
In the near future, Guiyang plans to improve its tea processing technics as well and develop snacks made of tea as well as tourism products related to tea.
