Lusheng Festival has a very long history, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907). Playing Lusheng, a reed-pipe wind instrument, is widely popular in the Miao, Yao and Dong ethnic minorities in Southwest China. It is also a sign and symbol of Miao ethnic culture.
