As many as 1.84 million tourists visited Anshun during the Chinese New Year holiday, an increase of 35.05 percent over the previous year. Revenue reached 950 million yuan ($158 million), an increase of 35.93 percent compared with that of last year, according to the Anshun municipal government.
Tourists from neighboring provinces rushed into Anshun thanks to the sunny weather, free expressways, and the operation of the Guiyang-Guangzhou high-speed railway.
Famous scenic spots such as Huangguoshu Waterfall and Dragon Palace were crowded with tourists. Meanwhile, no security incidents were reported.
From the first day to the third day of the Chinese New Year, multiple activities related to the festival were held. Tourists enjoyed the feast and themselves in Anshun. In addition, Anshun traditions were promoted to help more people learn about Anshun.
