The Israel-Guizhou Agriculture Seminar opened in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on January 11.

The Agricultural Committee of Guizhou and Israeli Consulate General in Chengdu made agreements during the seminar to jointly build the Agricultural Cooperation Demonstration Zone covering 666,666 square meters in the next four years.

Israel, a desert country once challenged by its arid geography, has developed a range of advanced agriculture technologies and facilities.

"Although our amount of arable land is decreasing, we still help to feed more people in the world," said Neubauer, counselor of agricultural science and technology in the Israeli embassy.

"Guizhou can take Israel’s technology, such as drip-irrigation techniques, as reference to expedite the modernization of agriculture in Guizhou," said the deputy consul general of Israel in Chengdu.

This seminar was sponsored by the Agricultural Committee of Guizhou and Israeli Consulate General in Chengdu, aiming to introduce Israel's advanced agricultural technologies to Guizhou.

More than 50 Chinese companies and three Israeli agricultural companies led by the Israeli embassy in China and Israeli Consulate General in Chengdu were in attendance.
