The Guizhou Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quaratine Bureau confirmed that Guizhou Lao Gan Ma is the first food enterprise to pass this test in the region.
Lao Gan Ma was established in 1996, by Tao Huabi, a illiterate rural woman without knowing many words in 1996. In 2013, output value reached 3.7 billion yuan ($600 million), an increase of 74 times compared with that of 1998.
Now the Lao Gan Ma Chili Crisp Sauce series is sold in more than 45 countries and regions. Lao Gan Ma attracted the FDA’s attention in March of 2014. The US government told the Chinese embassy that they will dispatch inspectors to Lao Gan Ma to do routine inspections.
Two months later, FDA inspectors confirmed that Lao Gan Ma did not receive the sheet 483 , which stands for faults in food testing. This means Lao Gan Ma passed the test.
