The Guiyang municipal government signed a cooperation agreement on the Guiyang cloud computing and big data center with Foxconn Technology Group, Guizhou Broadcasting & TV Network Co, and 21 Vianet on November 26.

"Developing the big data industry in Guizhou is the right path to help Guizhou realize development and at the same time protect the environment," said Terry Gou, chairman of Foxconn Technology Group. "We are very happy to sign the cooperation agreement with Guizhou, and I believe that we can contribute a lot to Guizhou's economic and social development."

According to the agreement, a special agency will be co-built by the Guizhou provincial government and Foxconn. The agency will take the role of promoting the project construction of Foxconn's green industrial park in Guizhou, as well as intelligent city construction.
By June 11, 2015, Guiyang will realize full day Wi-Fi coverage across the whole city, and the Guiyang cloud computing and big data center will provide Internet connection, data collection and cloud computing services to local residents.
