Chen Hongqi has been concentrating on paintings that depict Basha culture for a long time. More than 60 paintings are presented in Singapore to show Basha life, history and culture.
Basha is a place in Guizhou where ancient culture is mostly protected. This ethnic group is quite different from other Miao groups in terms of clothing and daily life. As villagers in the tribe are permitted by local authorities to carry guns, they are known as the "last tribe of gunners in China."
