With the support of a large database in Gui'an New District, Guizhou province in southwestern China, Guizhou will take an initiative around China to build a food security cloud computing platform before the end of this year, guaranteeing the safety of what people eat.
Based on data and information from various areas and departments, the platform will publish real time-related test results and nutritional analysis data to the public, according to the general office of the provincial government.
Through the large database in Gui’an New District, and the development of an inland open economic zone, approved by the Chinese cabinet earlier this year, , the cloud computing platform could help improve scientific supervision of food safety.
Since the preparation work was carried out in 2013, the platform has attracted over 2,900 companies, with 14,000 products and 500,000 pieces of data.
With the help of experts from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the platform has also developed a food security supervision system and several software applications for testing food for smart phones.
