The company was approved by China National Tobacco Corp and restructured into a shareholder system on July 1, 2008. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Tobacco, it specializes in production and sales of tobacco and related machines and parts.
It has 19 departments; five factories in the cities of Guiyang, Zunyi, Bijie and Tongren as well as Guiding county; and a warehouse in Xingyi city. It also controls Fugui Investment and Management Co.
The company strives to develop its brand "Guiyan", which has become a major name in the industry. In the past, it was once recognized as a high-end Chinese cigarette brand with the most growth potential. It ranked 369 in China's top 500 enterprises and 196 in the top 500 manufacturing firms in 2012.
