Pingnan builds Gan Guobao Culture brand

Pingnan government is striving to build Gan Guobao Culture brand, aiming at listing it in the annual Cross-Straits Forum activities.

Local government plans to organize the Min Opera Gan Guobao and martial arts demonstration in Taiwan, issue related animation and books and hold exhibitions.

In addition, Pingnan also inked a memorandum of tourism cooperation with Nantou county of Taiwan, with the help of Taiwan Gan Guobao Seminar. It is the first memorandum between Ningde and Taiwan.

So far, Pingnan has invested 6.5 million yuan ($1.05 million) in 11 conservation and development projects and will build a theme park on its outskirts as well.

Gan Guobao (1709-1776), formerly a Taiwan garrison commander, is revered by people across the Taiwan Straits for his great contribution to Taiwan's defense and development during his military tour on the island.

Gan Guobao Culture, which was deeply rooted in the land of Pingnan, plays an important role in historical literacy, cultural continuation and patriotic awareness for the locals, especially for the youth.
