Pingnan Sky Farm Company was listed on the Beijing National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) on Nov 27, and was the first small-to-medium-sized enterprise in eastern Fujian companies to get an "IPO" opportunity.
The National Equities Exchange and Quotations, which was set up for small-and-medium-sized enterprises, has brought and will bring many benefits to the agricultural company, according to Wu Zhide, president of Pingnan Sky Farm Co.
First, the company upgraded its management under the NEEQ application regulations. Second, the NEEQ will help the company, which is located in the mountain area, attract more professionals. Third, the company’s financing will be easier in the NEEQ frame. Fourth, Sky Farm will get more promotion opportunities since not many agricultural companies have been listed on the NEEQ, said Wu.
Pingnan Sky Farm Company, which is equipped with three systems for alpine free-pollution vegetable traceability, pesticide residue detection and alpine vegetable cold chain logistics, has been a leading agricultural company in Fujian province, with six products approved with "free-pollution" certification and four for "green food".
The alpine climate in Pingnan county is suitable for vegetable and fruits. With governmental support, Pingnan agriculture has been transformed into a modern mode of machinery culture, intelligent planting and factory processing from traditional hand works. Pingnan planted 158,000 mus (10,500 hectare) of vegetables in 2013, with a yield of 300,000 tons and an output value of 500 million yuan ($80 million).
