Fujian province plans to set up 60 charging points along two highways in 2015 in a bid to promote the use of electric vehicles.

The charging spots will be available at 60 gas stations along the Fujian sections of the Shenyang-Haikou Expressway and Beijing-Taiwan Expressway, said the Fujian branch of the State Grid on Dec 2.
Each charging point has a capacity of 120KW, and can serve two electric cars at the same time.
Under the project, a large vehicle-charging network will be formed covering eight of nine prefectural-level cities in Fujian, meaning an electric car will be able to travel through the province without worrying about running out of energy.
Furthermore, the project is deemed by the authority as a vital step to open up the new-energy vehicle market with a potential worth of up to 100 billion yuan ($16 billion).
