Pingnan honored as "Fujian medicated food city"

Pingnan is the first county in Fujian province to get the title of "Fujian medicated food city", approved by the Fujian Cuisine Association.

An assessment group of the Fujian Cuisine Association investigated Pingnan's medicated food industry in all its aspects, including its cullinary history, food categories and cooking skills, catering market's consumption status and effects, industrial development prospects and food brand development strategies. The group also carried out on-site investigations in hotels, food courts and agricultural markets.

The group concluded that Pingnan has a large consumption potential with an integrated, mature and special catering system. Pingnan was eligible for the title of "Fujian medicated food city" thanks to its special cooking skills and distinctive flavors.
