Pingnan county, in Fujian province, introduced three new corn species to interplant with cauliflowers, in order to improve soil condition, increase production and income and save production costs.
Pingnan, which is 830 meters above sea level, is the highest area in Fujian province. The geographical conditions are suitable for planting high mountain vegetables.
Hard soil, pests and plant diseases used to hinder the area's vegetable planting. Now, interplanting has become an effective way to solve these problems and bring in extra income.
