Lin Dezhong, chairman of the Luxia village committee, set up the Lvning Edible Fungi Cooperative in September 2013, to help villagers increase their income. The price for edible fungi is more than 10 yuan ($1.60) per 500g, but the cost is only 3 yuan ($0.50). Lin believes that planting edible fungi is a good way to increase farmers' income.
Lin said the local financial sector is willing to help the development of agriculture. The local credit cooperative plans to invest 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) in agricultural production this year.
