Pingnan residents get the “Most Beautiful Family in Fujian” Award

On May 14, the award ceremony of the “Most Beautiful Family in Fujian” and the“Family with Five Excellences in Fujian” was held in Fujian.

Coming from Pingnan County, Lu Zepin’s family, won the “Most Beautiful Family in Fujian” award, the only one winning the award in Ningde City.

In 2012, Lingxia Middle school in Pingnan built a “family of happiness and harmony” for the ‘left-behind’ children, whose parents both work outside of their hometowns.

Lu Zepin became a teacher there. In this big family, he holds a birthday party every month to bring love and care to the children whose parents are far away earning their living.

He invited children to share their reading experiences, to help them read, take notes, make speeches to enhance their confidence and the capacity to express their ideas. By training them in reading and writing, he helps them build writing skills and fosters an interest in reading.

In addition, Lu established a planting park for the family in an attempt to help the children gain hands-on experience and more knowledge. He also hopes that the project will benefit the villagers, and attract the far-away parents to start their own businesses at home so as to fundamentally address the social issue of left-behind children.
