The eighth Straits Travel Fair kicked off at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center on Sept 9.
The Fujian exhibition hall displays Fujian tulou and Wuyishan Mountain by reproducing scenery, including bamboo rafts and running water, to promote its tourism.
Right opposite Fujian hall is Taiwan hall, with orange as its main color. Taiwan landmarks such as Taipei 101 and Chung Tai Chan Monastery have been displayed in cartoon paper-cut silhouettes on the gate.
Outside has been decorated with sailboats and coconut trees. Four exhibition areas, showing Kinshan, Matsu, Penghu Islands and eight labor unions were set in the pavilion. Many pictures display beautiful scenery and unique folk customs of Taiwan.
A Rainbow Bridge connects Taiwan and Fujian halls, symbolizing cooperation among the cross-Straits tourism community.
Fuzhou set up an exhibition area themed, “Hot Spring City”, which is decorated with curtains and large photos.
