Xi'an is about to embrace the International Horticultural Expo, a six-month gala of the world's flora designs, from April 28 to October 22, 2011, and local residents stand to benefit from the upcoming event.
Wang Jun, deputy director of the Executive Committee of International Horticultural Expo 2011 Xi'an, unveiled a package on April 17 that includes a free ticket, a souvenir, and a map of the Expo site for every permanent Xi'an family.
The package is offered to thank local people for supporting the event, according to Wang.
The price for a ticket will be 150 yuan ($23) on 22 designated peak days and will be 100 yuan on standard days of the exposition period.
Those offered to the local families in this package are tickets on standard days. Together with the map and the souvenir, the package for every household is worth 121 yuan ($18.50).
The families that have lived in Xi'an for at least six months are eligible to receive the free package.
