Tickets for the 2011 International Horticultural Exposition, which will be held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, on April 28, were put up for sale to foreign tourists on Friday, said organizers of the event.
For the convenience of such tourists, organizers have decided to sell the tickets in more than 15 overseas countries and regions, according to Yu Yajun, deputy director of the city’s tourism bureau.
“Tourists can buy tickets with our local agencies in other counties,” said Shi Laishun, the vice president of China Travel Service, which was a general overseas ticket agency. Shi said special tour packages will be offered in the hope of bringing more foreign visitors to the sites.
Expo 2011 Xi’an will last for 178 days and is expected to attract 12 million visitors. The price for a ticket will be 150 yuan ($23) on 22 designated peak days and will be 50 yuan less on standard days of the exposition period.
