Charles Yeung is the chairman of the Glorious Sun Group. He was born in 1947 in Liangjing town, Huiyang in Guangdong province. He is a famous Chinese entrepreneur in Hong Kong. He started his business from scratch in 1967 in Hong Kong. After several years of painstaking effort, he expanded the Glorious Sun garment factory into Glorious Sun Group, the largest garment maker and exporter in Southeast Asia. He also expanded his business into finance and real estate. The group now has more than 80 affiliated enterprises. In 1996, the garment-making, trade and retail arm of the group, Glorious Sun Enterprises, was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. During listing, investor subscriptions for the stock were 236 times higher than the amount to be issued in Hong Kong. Charles Yeung was nicknamed the “king of pants” and the “star of successful enterprises by the new generation of Hong Kong people.” He also won the medal for young industrialist in Hong Kong.

In addition to business, Charles Yeung also supports social welfare and charity activities. In honor of his selfless contributions to charity programs, he was given the “Love Donors Award” at the sixth China Charity Award organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs. At the same time, Jeanwest International (Hong Kong), a company under Glorious Sun Group, was named the most loved foreign enterprise at the sixth China Charity Award; it was the third consecutive year the enterprise won the award.

In 1997, Glorious Sun Enterprises was chosen by Dow Jones as one of the Hong Kong component stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Index.
