New energy industry demonstration parks are set to be developed in the cities of Baicheng and Songyuan in Northeast China's Jilin province, according to a provincial government report.
The Changchun Xinglong Free Trade Zone got the green light from the State Council, China's Cabinet, in December 2011 to become the 19th free trade zone in the country, as well as the first one to be established in Northeast China's Jilin province.
The establishment of Changchun New Area -- in Changchun city, capital of China's Northeast Jilin province -- was approved by the State Council in February 2016 and construction began in April.
Established in 1991 following the approval of the State Council, Changchun High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is one of the first batch of national high-tech zones.
Changchun Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone was established in August 1995 in the city of Changchun -- capital of Northeast China's Jilin province -- as a tourism economic development zone, but acquired its current name in 2011.
Jilin Economic & Technological Development Area was established in 1998 and is located in the northwestern suburb of Jilin city, 85 kilometers away from Jilin province’s capital city of Changchun.
