Jilin's Baicheng showcases river-lake diversion project
A delegation of journalists on July 23 visits Baicheng city in Northeast China's Jilin province, as part of a major media campaign launched in the province. The Baicheng River-Lake Connecting Project uses natural water and water conservation systems to alleviate excess water levels during flood seasons in its natural lakes and wetlands. It does so by adopting water diversion and water distribution methods to form an alternative water displacement network. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
