Jilin University sets up Northeast Asian Studies College

The Northeast Asian Studies College of Jilin University – based at the university campus in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province – was officially launched on April 27.
It aims to reinforce research into Northeast Asia's politics, economies and history, as well as to advance Northeast Asian regional cooperation.
The college, based on the Center for Northeast Asian Studies of Jilin University, has an undergraduate major in economics (country and regional economics) and offers six master's and doctoral programs in world economics, regional economics and demography.
It is expected to enroll 20 undergraduates in the current year.
Northeast Asia is one of the most dynamic and potential regions in Asia and even the world.
As the geometric center of Northeast Asia, Jilin province has hosted 12 sessions of the China-Northeast Asia Expo, playing an important role in promoting regional economic development.
