Jing Junhai, Jilin's Party secretary, met with Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira and his delegation in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, on March 30, and the two parties agreed to boost exchanges and cooperation in fields such as medicine and healthcare, education, and science and technology.

Jing extended his warm welcome to the delegation. According to Jing, Jilin and Cuba have undertaken frequent political, cultural and economic exchanges and cooperation. During the fight against COVID-19, the two sides supported each other and worked together to overcome the challenge of the epidemic.

Pereira said that Jilin's economic and social development has shown gratifying changes. Cuba attaches great importance to the development of cooperative relations with Jilin, and is willing to work closely with Jilin in many fields such as biomedicine and personnel training to further enhance the friendly relations between the two parties and to better achieve their respective development goals.
