Auto parts manufacturer Dahua Machine Manufacturing Co Ltd – based in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province – posted strong growth in foreign orders, with earnings from international trade in the first two months of 2021 hitting 48.68 million yuan ($7.47 million), an increase of 18.36 percent over the same period last year.
The company specializes in the production of automobile flywheel assemblies and gear ring assemblies and exports its products to international markets such as Europe and the United States.
Since the start of 2021, the company has had a host of foreign orders. Among them, German auto giant Volkswagen's order for flywheel assembly products increased by 101.7 percent compared with the same period last year, US automaker GM's order for flywheel assembly products increased by 27.9 percent and Valeo's order for gear ring assemblies increased by 66.4 percent compared with the same period last year.
Since January this year, after mass production of newly developed products for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (or FCA) began, that company placed orders for 18,000 sets of flywheel assemblies with the Changchun auto parts producer.
In order to be able to deliver orders from foreign customers on time, in January the company quickly reorganized its production cycle.
Starting Feb 14, the manufacturing department organized for staff members in the factory to work in accordance with the new production schedule. After Feb 16, more than 340 employees had all returned to work.
In order to meet the supply of raw materials, the company started to purchase raw materials as early as possible. At the same time, it visited raw material suppliers to shorten the procurement cycle of raw materials or change the transportation method to ensure the company's production needs.
In the first two months of this year, the company delivered more than 520,000 sets of flywheel assemblies and more than 360,000 sets of gear ring assemblies to foreign customers, an increase of 35 percent and 56.7 percent respectively over the same period last year.
