Yang Andi, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has suggested the construction of an "Ice and Snow Silk Road", in order to boost regional economic growth.
Yang believes that the construction of the Ice and Snow Silk Road will help Northeast China take further advantage of its ice and snow resources, build a modern ice and snow-based economic system, and provide innovative momentum - and a characteristic strategic platform - for the revitalization of Northeast China.
Jilin province is located in the geometric center of Northeast Asia, and is the central part of the Northeast Asia Ice and Snow Silk Road. The province's ice and snow industry structure has already been built.
Yang suggested establishing an inter-ministerial work coordination mechanism, establishing a national Ice and Snow Silk Road research center, studying and promulgating policies for the development of the Ice and Snow Silk Road, and organizing the creation of a roadmap for the development of the Ice and Snow Silk Road.
She added that efforts should be made to build the core area of the Ice and Snow Silk Road and important node cities, to drive the domestic and international double cycle, and build a new pattern of high-quality development.
