Cao Xue, a member of the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has submitted a proposal to the CPPCC Jilin Committee, suggesting that the province establish a joint law enforcement and long-term management mechanism to comprehensively improve the living environment of old residential areas.
Following continuous economic development, the brand-new residential areas in the cities and towns of Jilin province have beautiful buildings and a clean environment, as well as standardized management. In contrast, in some of the old communities that were built earlier, problems such as unauthorized construction, destruction of green space and roads, and a lack of infrastructure occur from time to time.
Cao suggested that an implementation plan should be formulated to clarify the responsibilities of each department and comprehensively renovate the old communities.
In addition, a batch of high-quality engineering construction projects should be launched throughout the province to serve as demonstration communities, she added.
