Jilin province reports 67 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases
Northeast China's Jilin province reported 67 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases and five new asymptomatic cases on Sunday, according to an announcement from the province's health commission on Jan 25.
Of the newly confirmed cases, 11 were reported in Changchun city and 56 in Tonghua city.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland reached 89,115 by Sunday, including 1,850 patients still receiving treatment, of which 109 were in critical condition.
A total of 82,630 patients on the mainland had been discharged from hospitals following their recovery, and 4,635 had died of the disease.
There were two suspected COVID-19 cases on the mainland on Sunday, and 38,345 close contacts remained under medical observation.
Sunday also saw 45 new asymptomatic cases reported on the mainland, of which 16 arrived from outside the mainland, and 85 asymptomatic patients were re-categorized as confirmed cases.
On the same day, there were 959 asymptomatic cases still under medical observation, of which 277 arrived from outside the mainland.
