Jilin province reports 14 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases
Northeast China's Jilin province has reported 14 new local asymptomatic cases of COVID-19, according to a report released by the province's health commission on Jan 15.
All these cases were found by active nucleic acid testing and screening during the centralized quarantine and medical observation period.
One of these cases was transmitted from Wangkui county in neighboring Heilongjiang province, and the other 13 patients were associated with one case reported on Jan 13.
At present, the 14 new asymptomatic patients have been transferred to designated local medical institutions for quarantine and further medical observation.
Tonghua, Songyuan and Gongzhuling cities are carrying out follow-up investigations on the close contacts, sub-close contacts and general contacts of these infected individuals. The cities have also implemented measures to disinfect the living and working areas of the above-mentioned patients.
