Jilin province draws up blueprints for next five years

At the Eighth Plenary Session of the 11th Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China -- held from Dec 3 to Dec 4 in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province -- the province's economic and social development plans for the next five years and its long-range objectives through to the year 2035 were published.
At the session, 11 key tasks for economic and social development and reform and the opening-up of Jilin during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) were put forward.
Development ideas and key work in key areas were also identified.
During the period, Jilin plans to deeply implement its strategy of innovation-driven development and enhance its independent innovation capabilities.
It plans to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of industries and create a new development path for modern industries. And It will deeply integrate with the new development pattern and establish new development advantages, while deepening reforms and establishing mechanisms with the focus on optimizing its business environment.
At the same time, the province has set itself the task of promoting rural revitalization, speeding up agricultural and rural modernization and optimizing the distribution of land.
It will promote regional coordinated development and new urbanization and develop cultural ventures and cultural industries, to improve Jilin's cultural soft power.
It will promote green development and speed up the construction of a beautiful Jilin, as well as deeply integrate itself with the Belt and Road Initiative and build Jilin as an important window for China's opening to the north.
And efforts will be made to ensure and improve people's livelihoods, to continue to strengthen social construction and coordinate development and safety, to build Jilin with a higher degree of safety.
Furthermore, the province plans to attain a set of long-range objectives, to achieve its socialist modernization in line with the whole country by 2035.
