FAW Jiefang Truck Co Ltd, a truck manufacturing unit of China's leading automaker FAW Group, has been selected as a model for green manufacturing, on a list released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
According to a Nov 15 report by news agency Xinhua, the latest honor marked the 7th title in the field of green manufacturing won by FAW Jiefang.
FAW Jiefang -- based in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province -- has created many high-quality products, while actively responding to the call by the State to build green factories.
It had already built a green manufacturing system with low energy consumption and high energy efficiency.
FAW Jiefang adopted the strategic goal of saving energy and reducing costs by 36.31 million yuan ($5.53 million) for the current year. To date, 115 energy-saving projects have been completed and 35.66 million yuan has been saved.
At the same time, it has equipped itself with environmental protection and safety facilities to match its production capacity.
Its energy consumption from the main production equipment has reached leading industry levels, realizing green and effective production.
Furthermore, it has also continued to promote the implementation of pollution prevention and control projects. This year, it embarked on the construction of 20 related projects, costing 17.34 million yuan.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology began publishing green manufacturing list in 2017 and has so far released five such lists, with the aim of accelerating the construction of a green manufacturing system and leading the high-quality development of industry.
