A key Jilin-Zhejiang digital economy development summit was held at the Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone on Oct 11 in Changchun -- the capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province.
Its goal was to respond to the national strategy for cyber development and for the emergence of a digital China.
It also aimed to deepen general exchanges and cooperation between Jilin province and East China's Zhejiang province and also promote the high-quality development of the digital economy in Changchun.
The summit attracted the participation of over 350 experts and academics, company representatives and leaders in the field of the digital economy from both provinces.
Various activities were staged, to boost their links and cooperation. The goal was to attract more Zhejiang business resources -- especially those in the digital field -- to settle in Changchun, so as to jointly build benchmark projects for Jilin's digital economy.
A four-party strategic cooperation agreement was inked at the summit. The signatories were the Zhejiang Digital Economy Society, the Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone, the Changchun municipal administration for government services and digital construction and the Jilin Digital Economy Society.
During the event, the Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone signed strategic cooperation agreements with four Zhejiang enterprises.
In addition, the Changchun municipal administration for government services and digital construction signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hangzhou DBAPPSecurity Co Ltd.
According to local media reports, the Jingyue High-tech Industrial Development Zone is the core area for Changchun's strategic deployment of its digital economy.
As such, it is committed to building a major digital economy industrial park.
This will focus on artificial intelligence, block chain, online consumption, digital content and other fields -- as well as on attracting and developing companies in the complete industry chain, to form a digital economic growth pole.
At present, there are 2,567 digital economy enterprises in the zone and the zone is currently home to nearly 10,000 digital professionals.
This year the zone plans to invest 10 billion yuan ($1.49 billion) in this field of endeavor and strives to ultimately create a digital industry park with an annual output value of over 100 billion yuan and a planned area of 5 million square meters.
The park will be constructed in three phases. So far, the first phase of the park has attracted 13 top domestic and foreign enterprises and high-tech enterprises and it will start operating in the near future.
The second phase of the park includes a headquarters base, innovation and entrepreneurship base, services outsourcing base, data center, data exchange center and a research and development center. Construction is planned to be completed by the end of 2024.
The third phase of the park will focus on creating dominant industries in the digital field, forming a complete industrial chain -- as well as covering all aspects of the industrial chain, such as scientific research, commercialization of achievements, incubations, applications and services.
And the construction for the phase three will be completed by the end of 2030.
