Rail freight from Northeast China's Jilin to Europe surged to more than 100,000 metric tons from the start of the year to Sept 7, up 54.52 percent year-on-year, according to the customs office of the province's capital of Changchun.
The China-Europe freight rail service is one of the most important measures in Jilin's efforts to integrate with the Belt and Road Initiative and by Sept 7 the province had imported 19,400 tons and exported 85,900 tons of goods through the freight rail service.
At present, there are 11 outbound and seven inbound trains per month in Jilin province, serving nearly 3,000 businesses, shipping more than 2,000 kinds of goods and exporting products from 17 provinces, cities and regions.
Jilin has become a Northeast Asian multimodal transport hub, which has greatly influenced national multimodal transport and the China-Europe freight train service.
To date, Jilin's China-Europe freight train has service connecting more than 80 railway stations in Russia and 30 railway stations in 10 European countries.
It has gradually established itself as a most important logistics hub node covering the whole of Northeast Asia.
And it has also laid the foundation to promote the province internationally and also provided more abundant, fast and affordable consumption choices for the residents of Jilin and even the residents of the Northeast Asia region.
