Calls made to boost Jilin's rural revitalization

A conference on promoting rural revitalization work in Northeast China's Jilin province was held in Changchun -- capital city of the province, on Aug 12-13 -- where Bayin Chaolu, Party secretary of the province, stressed the importance of the key task.
Held by the Jilin Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the People's Government of Jilin Province, the conference mainly focused on implementing the national government's instructions on issues relating to agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
It also focused on deploying key programs to further the province's rural revitalization work.
At the conference, the Party secretary highlighted the important instructions on issues relating to agriculture, rural areas and farmers at the national level. He pointed out the direction and fundamental follow-ups to be made by the province to further promote its rural revitalization.
He added that, in recent years, great progress had been made in the rural revitalization in the province.

He said that this year, all departments in the province should thoroughly study and implement the relevant important instructions.
They should continue to focus on the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, vigorously promote it in all areas, make contributions to poverty alleviation and help create a prosperous society in an all-round way, while further promoting the rural revitalization of Jilin.
Bayin Chaolu stressed that it was necessary to implement the rural revitalization strategy to a high level and focus on the implementation of related key tasks.
It was important to complete the tasks of poverty alleviation as scheduled, improve grain production capacity, promote the revitalization of industries in rural area relying on the integration of the first, second and third industries, he said.
Bayin Chaolu said it was also important to promote agricultural modernization and rural modernization, promote the reform of the land system, deepen the reform of the rural collective property rights system and do a great job in the reform of rural management system, rural finance, land reclamation, forestry and other fields, so as to maximize the positive effects from reform.
Officials said that during the conference, participants went to visit and investigate the implementation and development of model projects in modern agriculture – as well as industries, rural tourism developments, rural land system reforms, rural environmental improvements and rural social governance.
They also watched videos about the rural revitalization work in several cities and counties.
