A fruitful Changchun-Busan online import and export conference was held recently by video conference, to promote the steady development of foreign trading enterprises on both sides, according to officials.
A total of 55 businesses from both places attended the conference held simultaneously in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province and the large port city of Busan in South Korea -- with 14 trade agreements hammered out.
Officials said that the participating companies were chosen by the Changchun international trade promotion council and the Busan economic revitalization institute -- following more than two months of recruitments, screenings, comparisons and selections.
The business deals discussed at the conference covered such areas as consumer goods, agricultural products, seafood, processed food and IT development, according to officials.
They said the accords included 10 export agreements and four agreements on import.
Moving forwards, the two cities plan to maintain close exchanges and do business.
Officials said the Changchun international trade promotion council will give support for more companies in the city tapping into the markets in Busan, so as to promote development of an export-oriented economy in Jilin's capital.
