Koguryo Kingdom Relics Park is located in Ji'an city, Northeast China's Jilin province. It is an ancient capital and the home of both the imperial tombs of the Koguryo Kingdom and the remains of the mausoleum. It is composed of the "inner city", Wandushan city, 14 mausoleums of emperors and 26 tombs of nobles.
The inner city and Wandushan city, originally named Weinayan city, were the capital during the middle period of the Koguryo Dynasty (37 BC- 668 AD). Outside the inner city and Wandushan city, there are nearly 7,000 tombs in groups on the Tonggou Plain. They are considered to be the largest group of imperial tombs in northeast Asia.
The relics park not only reflects the historic development of Koguryo, but also showcases the unique culture and civilization of the ancient dynasty.
It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO in 2004.
