CPPCC member urges Jilin to boost carbon fiber industry
In recent years, Jilin province in northeastern China has achieved huge progress in advancing its carbon fiber industry, according to local reports.
To sustain and extend that momentum, Wang Desheng, a member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Jilin Committee, gave advice on further development of the sector.
He suggested establishing a provincial-level innovation center for the industry and establishing a leading group to promote its development, as well as that of the composite materials sector.
Wang also advised the creation of a special fund to develop the carbon fiber and composite industry.
Jilin is the headquarters of carmaker FAW Group and CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co Ltd and the province should take advantage of this to promote development in the areas of carbon fiber and composite materials in vehicle and rail transportation.
The CPPCC member also suggested more financial support, more scientific research input and more preferential policies to attract professionals and investment in the carbon fiber sector, to promote its further growth.
