Jilin provincial governor underlines need for innovation
Jing Junhai, governor of Northeast China’s Jilin province, attended a group discussion at the third session of the 12th Jilin Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in the province’s capital city of Changchun on Jan 12, according to local officials.
He underlined during the meeting that the province should enhance its innovation capabilities to achieve all-round revitalization.
Jing said that focus should be placed on three areas to achieve high-quality development: stabilizing economic growth, promoting rural revitalization and accelerating agricultural modernization, as well as promoting a wider range of opening-up at a deeper level.
Innovation and entrepreneurship should be promoted in the province, to power its social and economic growth, the governor added.
Twelve attendees at the discussion also made their suggestions on implementation of rural revitalization policies, building a “digital Jilin”, as well as technological innovation and other areas.
